VIRSHETÉ is a high-end ready-to-wear fashion label established in Mumbai, India, in 2019, by Fashion Designer & Creative Director, Vir Shete. Offering women’s clothing, VIRSHETÉ is currently sold on the e-commerce page of this website and at authorised stockists.

sexy yet sophisticated, and cosmopolitan yet classic.

With a focus on investment pieces that personify the empowered, international woman of today,
VIRSHETÉ synergises eastern, western and local influences into an identity that's distinct and refined, yet universal and relatable.

Drawing from a variety of sources that include identity, culture, travel, architecture and technology, VIRSHETÉ incorporates
an educated research and design process, unparalleled manufacturing techniques, and is sustainably mindful across all of its operations.

Ingeniously integrating structured shapes with more fluid silhouettes, the form-fitted with the oversized in distinct proportions, conventional fabrics with new-age materials, hardware details with artisanal finishings, and a minimalistic palette with avant-garde pops of colour, VIRSHETÉ champions the idea of fashion-forward functional ready-to-wear, for both the day and evening.
THE DESIGNER
Born and raised in Mumbai, with a stellar education and international exposure, Vir Shete started out as a freelancer in 2008
and has built a vast inter-disciplinary portfolio of work within the fashion and beauty industries - Design, Production & Promotion;
Make-up, Hair & Styling; Creative Direction & Consultancy across all capacities; and Editing.

Having relocated to London in 2010 with the curiosity to explore and aspiration to propel the realms of fashion, design, identity and beauty,
Vir enrolled at the renowned London College of Fashion and graduated in 2014 with a BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology (Womenswear)
and the launch of his debut collection.
​
Succeeding a well-received première, Vir moved to Tokyo in 2014 to work as Designer and then Creative Director for various Japanese
fashion houses. The experiences of living, learning and working in invincible cities such as Mumbai, London and Tokyo honed his talents
as an international designer and helped him garner insight into the complete life-cycle of fashion - from creation to consumption.

Vir returned to Mumbai in 2019 to finally pursue his eponymous label, VIRSHETÉ - an absolute reflection of his distinct identity
and directional point of view. Some of his accolades over the years include showcasing at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London,
speaking at the Imperial College London, and being featured in publications such as Vogue India, British Vogue, Elle India, Grazia India,
GQ India, Filmfare India, Verve India, Homegrown India, Bombay Times, Hindustan Times,
The Indian Express, Platform Magazine, Jute Magazine and MTV India.
